February 27, 2020 Update

Please continue to pray for Chuck Bishop.  He remains in UW Hospital with the doctors working on being able to lower the amount of oxygen they are giving him so that he can go home.  Please pray for healing and encouragement for Chuck and for wisdom for those who are working with him.

 

Pray for Andrew Colson and his family as the Memorial Service for his step-dad is held in Vancouver this weekend.

We get together each Sunday evening at 5:00 pm for our Share & Prayer time.  We meet to pray for one another, our OIKOS, our missionaries, etc.  All are welcome – kids are included in the prayer time.

January 23, 2020 Update

Congratulations to Mellisa (Evans) & Todd Faulkner !!  They were married on January 11 at Eastgate Bible Fellowship.  After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple are now living in Bremerton.

 

The EBF Book Club will meet this Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 am here at the church hosted by Karee Byington.  The book being discussed this month is “Night of Miracles” by Elizabeth Berg.

 

We get together each Sunday evening at 5:00 pm for our Share & Prayer time.  We meet to pray for one another, our OIKOS, our missionaries, etc.  All are welcome – kids are included in the prayer time.

 

Attention all guys !!  There will be a Men’s Breakfast at the church on Saturday, February 1 at 8:00 am.  Come get to know the guys of the church and eat some yummy food!

 

The Youth Sponsored Valentine’s Dinner is coming !!  It will be held on Saturday, February 15 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the church. ALL Adults are invited !!  Dinner, Entertainment & Childcare are all included. TICKETS ARE $10.00 PER PERSON.  (All proceeds go directly to the Youth)

 

Night to Shine” will be held on Friday, February 7.  This is a special night sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation – a prom night experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older.  The prom will be held at Calvary Chapel Eastside — EBF will be providing a place for about 80 special needs people to get ready for the prom.  WE NEED YOUR HELP !!  From 5:00-7:00 pm, we need 12 people to act as crowd control helping these young people get to where they need to be to get ready for the prom (hair fixed, etc.)  PLEASE LET PASTOR ROBIN KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP !!

 

David Thayer had gall bladder surgery yesterday, January 22.  He went home today and is doing well – bed rest for 7 days.

5) Dawn Wilson (Bob Wilson’s wife) – was scheduled for stem cell transplant in October but because of an infection, it was put on hold; rescheduled for first week in January (no news since this)

6) Andrew Colson’s step-dad Jerry (Spokane area) – heart attack the beginning of September; has been moved from ICU in the hospital to a rehab facility that is an hour and a half from home.  Also pray for strength for Andrew’s mom, Chris as she now drives even further each way to be with Jerry.

7) Mark Boyer – recovery after stroke

8) Pat Babcock – her daughter, Sue says she is pretty much stable as far as memory and health are concerned; she would enjoy a card with kittens or flowers and would love a picture of you (might jog her memory

Calling all guys !!  Men’s Breakfast on January 4 at 8:00 am – come for food & fellowship.  Followed by Un-Decorating of the church at 9:00 am.

 

On January 4 at 9:00 am, we will be Un-decorating the Church.  All are welcome – the more hands we have, the faster we can get done.

 

The Church Library will be open from 1:00-3:00 pm on January 4.

December 19, 2019

This coming Sunday we will have our Family Christmas Service at 11:00 am with everyone including kids and babies in the service.  This allows our Children’s workers to enjoy the Christmas service (the kids will have their normal Sunday School time at 9:30 am)

 

Christmas Eve Service on December 24 at 6:30 pm.  Come enjoy Christmas carols and a Christmas message.

Update on Mary Koll:  She is doing much better and the pain is improving.  Pathology showed a rare form of cancer that they recommend surgery for — they were able to get it all with the removal of the tumor and gland.  She praises God that He took care of it before she even knew that she had cancer.  She thanks everyone for all your prayers.

October 3, 2019 Update

Doug and Sally Hoy invite you to a Going-Away Fellowship time with refreshments on Sunday, October 6 from 10:15 – 10:45 am in the Fellowship Hall – they want a chance to thank you for your support over the last 30 years here at EBF. They will be moving to Arlington on October 9.  Don’t miss this chance to tell them how much they will be missed !   (“I Remember When…” sheets will be available to write them a note)

1) Debbie McBee’s friend, Robin:  had stem cells harvested week of Sept. 22 and then another round of chemo.  Transplant was done on Monday, September 30 – she has had constant nausea since but is feeling slightly better physically.  She is so thankful for the love, concern and prayers from everyone.  (Debbie thanks everyone for their prayers and concern for her friend Robin – it has blessed both of the tremendously.  Debbie says, “ You are so dear to me; your concern for my friend shows me more love than I can express.”)

2) Pam Johansensigns of dementia; moved to memory care facility

3) Andrew Colson’s dad, Jerry:  remains in ICU after his heart attack on September 1

August 8, 2019

PLEASE REMEMBER:  There will be NO 9:30 am Sunday School / Discovery Group hour beginning this Sunday and continuing through September 1.  WE WILL HAVE ONLY THE 11:00 AM WORSHIP SERVICE.  THERE WILL BE NO CHILDREN’S CHURCH DURING THOSE SAME SUNDAYS BUT WE WILL HAVE OUR NORMAL NURSERY AND JITTERBUGS CLASS FOR 3-5 YEAR OLDS.

 

A WONDERFUL TIME WAS HAD BY ALL AT THE ANNUAL CHURCH SERVICE & PICNIC OUT AT CAMP GILEAD !!

We had a large group of Counselors & Staff from the Camp join us and the weather cooperated beautifully.  Thanks to Ken Mills for the sermon on SERVING GOD BY SERVING OTHERS.  If that spoke to you and you would like to find a place to serve here at EBF, see Pastor Robin, one of the Elders, or me – we’d love to find just the right place for you to fit in.

 

Update on Pat Neumann:

Pat is doing so much better and she thanks you for your prayers – it was great to see her and Glenn at the service out at Camp Gilead on Sunday.  When her body is healed, she will be having another surgery for more hernias that will be a bit more complicated so begin praying for her NOW!
