Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

August 28, 2021

Hi EBF Family,

Many of you may be wondering what has changed as a result of the recent mask guidelines that have been issued for our state. As you are most likely aware Gov. Jay Inslee announced that a renewed mask mandate went into effect Monday, August 23, 2021, and applies to everyone regardless of vaccination status. According to the statement issued, the mandate applies to most indoor public spaces where people might congregate, including restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, buses, malls, and many offices. In the past when these guidelines have been issued churches and other places of worship were specifically included. Being that churches have not been specifically included in this recent mandate the Elder Board believes that there is discretion when it comes to what takes place here at church. We encourage everyone to monitor their health, stay at home if they are not feeling well, and wear a mask to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Once again we are faced with a situation that has the potential to create division within the church body. Our continuing hope is that we will “walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3) The enemy wants nothing more than to use an opportunity like this to create division within the church and communities in which we live, so we encourage you to give each other the grace to do as each person feels led.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate with you whatever changes we feel need to be made as new details become known.

God Bless!
