May 1, 2019 Update

This Week’s update on Mark Boyer from Dallas on May 1:

Mark continues to slowly improve.  We are waiting now to be approved by insurance to move to an acute rehab facility.  He is on solid food, meats are still pureed.  They are taking him off insulin shots for the next 48 hours.  Continue to pray for return of strength, right side use, speech, and swallowing.  God is good and we continue to see answers every day.  (It has now been 9 weeks — pray for Dallas & Nancy, too).

Please continue to pray for Rob Adams as he recovers from his retina surgery on his right eye on Wednesday, April 24 — it will be 3 months or longer for his retina to fully heal.

Carin Cudney is having back problems (because of her scoliosis) — and also has 3 cracked or broken ribs.  She is in need of employment (she’s hoping for a part-time job at the Issaquah Senior Center but also needs an additional job if that works out).  Please pray about both matters.

Jo Cudney continues with her radiation treatments (every weekday afternoon at 2:30 pm for 20 minutes).  Please pray that these treatments will take care of her salivary cancer.

Pat Babcock is missed here at EBF as she can no longer attend church.  If you would like to be part of the visiting team every other Wednesday from 3:00-3:30 pm, please respond to this email.  The next visit will be May 15.

On Saturday, May 4 there will be a Workday from 9:00 am to Noon to replant the rhodies that were removed to re-plumb the building last fall — new plants will also be added.  Bring shovels, hand tools and gloves.  BREAKFAST AT 8:00 AM FOR ALL WORKERS.

The Church Library will be open on Saturday, May 4 from 1:00-3:00 pm

Debbie McBee will be leaving on May 17 to help with her mother in Mississippi.  We want to honor her with a Going Away Breakfast at 9:30 am on May 5 — this is a church-wide event (come whether you normally attend the 9:30 am hour or not — NO Sunday School or Discovery Groups).  We want her to know how much we love her and will miss her.  If you have not yet signed up with how many from your family will be attending, please respond to this email by Friday morning (May 3) at 10:00 am.

On May 5 after the Worship Service there will be a Business Meeting –we will be updated on the projects that have been happening at the church.  Please plan to attend.

Ladies “First Tuesdays Together” Lunch will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 11:30 am (NOTE TIME) at Yea’s Wok (Asian)  6969 Coal Creek Pkwy SE,  New Castle.  Call, text, email Donna Duryee to have her save a spot for you.

REMINDER:  Elder Board Meeting on Thursday, May 9 at 5:30 pm at Pastor Robin’s home.

On Sunday, Pastor Robin will be leading the Worship team and continuing his sermon series in Acts.  When you arrive, you will be greeted by Dawn Black & Diane Scirica.  The Beverage Center will be closed due to the Business Meeting.  Doug Hoy & Matt Collins will be praying for the EBF Family in the Prayer Room.  Neal Gardenhire, Mark Kieras, Frank Kempf and Ed Borbon are the May ushering team.
