What’s happening at EBF?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries including the following areas:

Mission Outreach

Eastgate Bible Fellowship is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. Not only do we take seriously our responsibility to share the gospel in our neighborhood, we are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. Learn more about our missionaries and how you can pray for them please visit our Missionaries page.

Music & Scripture Reading Team

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
– Romans 12:1
“Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.”
 -1 Timothy 4:13
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the seasonal choir. Still others get involved in Scripture Reading Team. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Children’s Ministries

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” – Mark 10:14

Our children’s ministry exists to help the family build a strong biblical foundation in the lives of children; to minister to their needs and teach them to live out their faith in everyday life.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions we will not have any regular Children’s Ministry programming until further notice.

AWANA is a worldwide program that is a club that involves pre-school aged children through Sr. High.

Our club starts with Cubbies (3+4 years old), Sparks (Kindergarten through 2nd grade), and T&T (3rd through 6th graders).

AWANA’s pledge states that it’s goal is to “Reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.”

AWANA is a marvelous evangelistic and growing tool. Children will hear about how to come into a relationship with Christ and then will be trained in how to continue in that relationship and grow in Him.

Our youth ministry exists to encourage youth to connect with other believers, to honor God with their life and to equip them for their ministry of sharing their faith with their peers.

No Sunday Morning Youth Group at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Eastgate Youth (JH & HS, Grades 6-12) generally meets Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am.

Men’s Ministry

Calling all men who want to make a difference in their world for the Lord Jesus.

We all need to learn how to balance work, family, and your relationship with Christ. Here at Eastgate Bible Fellowship we seek to provide opportunities that allow men to get together and encourage each other in their walk with God.

There are retreats that are planned throughout the year as well as other various activities. Be sure to check out the
calendar to see what’s coming up.

Women’s Ministries

The Women’s ministry here at Eastgate Bible Fellowship exists to introduce women to Christ and to deepen their relationship with Him and each other by providing opportunities for outreach, spiritual growth, fellowship, service and support.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

– Hebrews 10:24-25

There are three branches of ministry included in Women’s Ministry:

– We support, mentor, and encourage ministry wives and leaders, missionary wives and the ladies of EBF. This encouragement is provided in a variety of ways that includes birthday cards, varying surprises left in church mail boxes, and definitely through prayer.

– We seek to mature our women in Christ so they can more effectively minister in their home and to the body of Christ throughout our church, city, and world. We endeavor to do this through Bible studies, women’s conferences, and Response Activities (prayer partners, follow-up materials)

– Opportunities are provided for our women and their guests to participate in outreach and fellowship. Outreach and fellowship events include: Overnight retreats, Ladie’s Tea, a Christmas event as well as Baby and Bridal Showers.

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in  audio format. We also maintain an active Facebook account for additional church communication.

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Every Sunday evening at 5:00 pm, we meet for a Share and Prayer Hour where we pray for the needs of our church, our missionaries, and those we are reaching for Christ.
